The Association has sent a total of 72 individual care packages, 3 packages of Wallaby scarves, 2 packages of playing cards and poker chips and 1 dart board, cabinet and 11 sets of darts.

Today El Presidente' and I were busily packing the last of the boxes and items on hand for B Sqn prior to them coming home.

Much thought was put into the combination of articles for each package.

Talk about "Coals to Newcastle" we are even managing to send "Afghans to the Afghans".

Once the boxes were assembled the items were placed into the packages and addressed for the trip to Afghanistan via sydney.

41 individual care packages ready for transport to the local post office.

Thank you to all the people who helped make these care packages possible.

Some of the packages have already been distributed to the troops in Afghanistan.

Some of the feedback that has been received to date include;

Recently the packages sent by the association arrived at MNB-TK, members of 2 Troop "Snoop Troop" were extremely thrilled to take receipt of these packages.

On behalf of the soldiers and Troop Leader of Snoop Troop I wish to convey out heartfelt thanks for the packages.

It is a nice reminder for the boys that we are in the thoughts of those at home.

Kind Regards

John, once again thankyou and the association for the support, the lads truly appreciate it. The Wallaby gear went down a treat. I will have the lads complete an article and attach some photo's. The mighty B SQN continues to provide the protected lift capability for the Battle Group. The lads and the vehicles are holding up well and would make the old and bold's proud. Hope all is well and I will get the articles and photo's back ASAP.

I have separately sent you through a letter of appreciation (which will probably take 3-4 weeks to get to you). The support that you and the Association have provided to B Sqn 3/4 Cav Regt soldiers has been exceptional. All that you have sent has been equally distributed amongst the Team. Thankyou once again and Merry Christmas to you and to yours.

Kind regards,

Michael Scott

PACKAGES TO THE TROOPS

To John Winter and the package team.

Well done does not adequately describe the efforts of your team  but to you and all involved, bloody well done!!!

We have again demonstarted the Association's capacity to act speedily, decisively and to continue to punch well above its weight.

Bloody proud  of you all.

Regards,

Noel Mc Laughin
